Your Role as a School Transport Driver: What to Expect

As a home-to-school driver with ZELLTAXIS, you’ll use your licensed vehicle to pick up and drop off children, young adults, or vulnerable adults, depending on the run you accept. We’ll give you all the details upfront, like pickup times, locations, and drop-off points. Some passengers may have carers or need wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

Your main job is to safely transport these individuals to school or their arranged location, making the process smooth and easy. 

Once you accept a run, it becomes your regular route. You’ll transport the same group of passengers each day, typically five days a week, with both morning and afternoon pickups.
 So its easy to Plan out Your day.

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Passenger Assistants to support the safe and efficient transport of children and individuals with special needs to and from their homes and schools. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being and comfort of passengers during transit.

Key Responsibilities:
– Supervision and Care: Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during the journey. Provide assistance with boarding and alighting from the vehicle.
– Support:Assist passengers with special needs, including those with physical or learning disabilities, ensuring they are comfortable and secure.
– Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, school staff, and transport providers to ensure smooth operations.
– Safety: Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of seat belts, harnesses, and other safety equipment.
– Behaviour Management: Monitor and manage passenger behaviour, ensuring a calm and safe environment within the vehicle.
– Documentation: Keep accurate records of journeys, incidents, and any issues that arise during transport.
– First Aid: Administer basic first aid if necessary and report any health concerns to the appropriate authorities. ( training can be provided)

Qualifications:
PAT’s Training ( provided ) 
– DBS 
– Experience working with children and individuals with special needs is preferred.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
– Basic first aid training is an advantage.
– A caring and empathetic nature.

Working Hours:
working hours, Route dependent but typically between Monday to Friday,
7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, with occasional variations. Route time and timetable will be given on offer.
